Donald Hendershott Obituary
Donald Hendershott 78, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away with his loving family by his side on December 28th, 2012 at his home in Blue Bell. He was the beloved husband of Silvia (Paluzzi) Hendershott to whom he has been married to for over 55 years. Born on July 6, 1934 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Broyles) Hendershott of Tulsa Oklahoma. Don grew up in Illinois and Missouri until his High School years where he lived in Chicago. He obtained his Engineering degree from Northwestern University and completed his graduate degree from Penn State University. Don has been a Blue Bell resident since 1961 and worked as an Aerospace Communications Design Engineer at GE and later at Lockheed Martin in Valley Forge, PA. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and a Brother Mason at Concordia Lodge 67 F&AM in Jenkintown, PA where Don was a Master Mason and served on the scholarship committee. Don enjoyed bird carving and was a proud member of the Delaware Valley Carving Club and The Pennsylvania and Berks County Guild of Craftsmen. Don was never more joyful than when he was on the water fishing with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Cheryl Hendershott, son Paul (Marlene) Hendershott, and daughters Karen (Colin) Myers, and Brenda (Patrick) Wolling, and four grandchildren; Andrew Myers, Matthew Myers, Ryan Wolling and Samantha Wolling, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ralph Hendershott. Family and friends are invited to greet the family and celebrate Don's life between 9 -10:45 AM on Saturday Jan 5th 2013 at the R. L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 3440 Skippack Pike & Cedars, Rd. Skippack, PA 19474. There will be a Masonic service from 10:45 - 11 AM with the Memorial Service to begin at 11AM.
