Barbara A. Vickers Obituary
Barbara A. Vickers Barbara A. Vickers, formerly of Glenside, passed away on March 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife of John H. Vickers and the mother of Patricia Tozzi (Gerald), John W. (Maria), and Paul. She is also survived by two grandchildren. A graduate of Abington High School, Class of 1954, Barbara was a varsity cheerleader. After graduation, she worked for Bell Telephone and then stayed home to raise her children. Barbara was a member of the PTO and was the Abington High School Marching Band treasurer, where she worked very hard to send the band to the orange Bowl in 1974. After working as a volunteer at Abington Hospital, she became a 25-year employee there. She was a lover of the Jersey Shore, namely Ocean City. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial Mass Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Easton Road and Fairhill Avenue, Glenside. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's name may be made to the , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Arrangements were made by John R. Freed Funeral Home, Glenside.
