Obituary Condolences

David Heath MD David D. Heath, MD, Age 89, died Sunday April 1, 2012 at Foulkeways at Gwynedd where he had resided since 2008. Prior to that, he lived in Plymouth Meeting for 28 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Leslie and Helen (Elder) Heath. David was a graduate of Germantown Friends School Class of 1940, Harvard College Class of 1944 and Temple University Medical School Class of 1951. A conscientious objector, he served in the American Field Service from 1943 to 1944 and in the British Friends Ambulance Service from 1945 to 1946. Following a residency at the University of Michigan, Dr. Heath was a family medicine physician in Michigan for 4 years, followed by 34 years with Plymouth Meeting Family Medicine, prior to his retirement in 1993. He was on staff at Chestnut Hill, Montgomery and Sacred Heart Hospitals. Dr. Heath was a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society and Germantown Friends Meeting. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Chapin) Heath, children Tacie H. (Martin) Draznin of Kalamazoo, MI, Karen H. (John) Stine of Maple Glen, PA, Anne C. Heath of Mendocino, CA and David O. (Sally) Heath of Swannanoa, NC as well as 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A memorial service will be held Saturday April 21, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Community Center of Foulkeways, 1120 Meeting House Rd., Gwynedd, PA.
