Ernard Gustafason Obituary
Ernard Gustafson Ernard "Ernie" A.C. Gustafson passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 after turning 76 years old on Thanksgiving Day, so bravely fighting cancer. He was the son of the late Ernard A. and Anneliese "Emily" (nee Seiferling) Gustafson. Ernie was the beloved husband of 56 years to Gail Eleanor (nee Campion) Gustafson. They were highschool sweethearts and he will always be the love of her life. He was the loving father and best friend of his son, Ernard A.C. Gustafson Jr. and his wonderful daughter, Bonnie ( nee Gustafson ) and her husband Dan Lawn. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Shelly and Gus Lawn of Hatboro and is also survived by his dear sister Nancy ( nee Gustafson ) Ballew of North Wales. PA. Ernie was born and raised on a farm in Upper Moreland. When he married Gail, his dad built them a home at the edge of the pasture where they raised their family. Ernie was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School, Class of 1953, also the era of the "Hot Rod". He was known throughout the area for his cars. He never tired of working on cars and at the age of 23 could take a car completely apart, fix it and put it back together correctly. His first job at 16 was working at AL Feathers in a barn across the street from The Willow Inn, then at Walker Cadillac and Waller Motors before opening his own shop on Davisville Road in 1965 and a few years later GS Custom Truck Bodies with his good friend, Alfred Sharman. So important to him and so grateful for their loyalty were his employees, some working in the shop for decades and to his many customers, we thank them so very much for their concern when Ernie became ill. It meant the world to him. Over the years, Ernie was interested in raising Thoroughbred horses, loved golf and riding his motorcycle on Sunday mornings. Ernie was hardworking, loyal and honest. He had so many good friends in his life and in business. He valued each and everyone for their friendship and truly missed those who had passed away over the years. Many, many times Ernie would mention he was the luckiest guy in the world for all the Blessings in his life. Relatives and friends are invited to Ernie's Life Celebration Friday December 16th from 9:30 - 11 am at Calvary Chapel, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116 followed by his Funeral Service at 11 am.
