Florence F. Steeley age 90, formerly of Perkasie, died at The Lutheran Community, Telford, where she resided. She was the wife of the late Marvin L. Steeley, who died Dec. 5, 1999. Born in Hatfield, she was the daughter of the late Linford V. and Sallie H. (Nace) Fritz. Florence graduated from the former Sell-Perk High School in 1940, then attended Lansdale School of Business. As a young woman, she was employed as a seamstress for the former pants manufacturers, Lutz of Sellersville and Dublin Pants Factory. Her last employer was B. R. Scholl & Sons of Perkasie, where she worked as a bookkeeper for 15 yrs. Over the years, she was "Mom" by providing a loving, wonderful home for 72 babies through The Lutheran Children's Bureau. Upon retirement in 1988, she became a volunteer at Pennridge Senior Center and was treasurer for Ridgeway Court Assoc., Perkasie. Mrs. Steeley was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she served as Circle Leader of a ladies Bible study. Her hobbies included crocheting and travel. She was a great neighbor and was known for baking incredibly delicious food. Mrs. Steeley is survived by four children: twin daughters Jean Steeley of Scottsdale, AZ and Joan Kemp and husband Deryl of Haskell, OK, son Robin E. Rosado and wife Lynn of Fuquay Varnia, NC and son Michael Steeley and wife Doreen of Perkasie, two sisters, the late Susie Fling, Kathryn Kirkpatrick and husband Robert of Pennsburg, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, Nov. 16, 11:00AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 19 S. 5th St., Perkasie, where viewing will take place from 9-11AM. Burial follows in church cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in Florence's name to the church's memorial fund.
