Gladys Davis Wagner

Obituary Condolences

Gladys Davis Gladys Davis Wagner, of Gwynedd Valley, died Tuesday, December 18 at Rockhill Mennonite Community, a few weeks shy of her 96th birthday. Gladys was born and raised in Savannah, Ga with her four sisters. During WWII, Gladys worked for military intelligence at Hunter Field near Savannah, where she met and married Henry Wagner of Philadelphia. She moved north with her "Yankee" after the war, and settled in Gwynedd Valley in 1958, when Henry finished his seven year project of building their home. Gladys was an active member of the Church of the Messiah, Gwynedd, with the Welsh Village Faire and Belfry Bargains. She was a founding member of the Gwynedd Valley Garden Club. She enjoyed her arthritis swim group at Lansdale YMCA, and loved a game of bridge or Rummikub. She loved spending time with family at Ship Bottom, and could ride a mean wave. Gladys is survived by her children: Henry, his wife Linda; Sally, her husband Gary; grandchildren Katherine, Luke, and wife Bianca, Erik, and Hanna; and great-grand children Lucas and Claudia. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1979. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, PO Box 297, Philadelphia, PA. 19105-0297. A memorial gathering will be scheduled in the new year.
