Glen Horsfield Glenwood (Glen) Horsfield, 75 of Telford passed away on December 10, 2011. Glen was born on November 20, 1936 in Hazleton, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents Ellen (Eroh) and Harold Horsfield. He was a 1954 graduate of Hazleton High School. Glen enlisted in the US Army on June 6, 1955. He was a member of the 69th Signal Corps and served 16 months in Korea. He was Honorably Discharged on March 24, 1958. He was employed as a machinist by Teleflex/Triumph Controls, North Wales for 40 years before retiring in 2006. Glen was a life member of the Telford Volunteer Fire Company and in 2011 completed 50 years of dedicated service. He was awarded a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives recognizing his selfless devotion to the task of assuring the safety of his fellow citizens. During his volunteer years he was a firefighter and a member of the Fire Police. For many years he served as Fire Company Secretary and held numerous offices with the Fire Police. For many years Glen provided leadership to the boys of Pack 14, Telford, serving as Cub Scout Master and Chairman of the Pack. He was General Nash District Commissioner, Unit Commissioner and received the Award of Merit from General Nash District, Valley Forge Boy Scout Council in 1985. Glen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Florence (Kromis), a daughter; Cynthia Cox and her husband John, and sons Timothy, Richard, and Kenneth and his wife Charlotte (Kratz); grandchildren, Tanya (Cox) and her husband Daniel Ashcraft, Grant Zebluim, Jonathan Cox, Robert Horsfield, Elizabeth Cox, Kim Gaugler and Grey Rowland. Glen has two great grandchildren, Danny & Alyssa Ashcraft. He is survived by a sister, Dolores Mainero, Hazleton. Services were held on Tuesday, December 12th at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Telford Volunteer Fire Company, 400 West Broad Street, Telford, PA 18969 or to Dotti Martin Educational Scholarship Fund, Girl Scouts of Eastern PA, PO Box 27540, Philadelphia, PA 19118.
