J. Craig Shields, Jr., J. Craig Shields, Jr., of Rydal, PA passed away September 8, 2010 at Abington Hospice in Warminster, he was 89. Husband of Patricia (nee Henne) Shields. Father of J. Craig Shields, III, (Rebecca) and Geoffrey H. Shields (Kim). Loving Grandfather of Bradford, Tyler, Garrett, Jake and Valerie. Brother of Edgar Shields. Born in Abington to the late J. Craig and Katherine Shields, Mr. Shields spent his entire life in the Abington area. He graduated from Abington High School in 1939 and the University of Maryland in 1946. He served in the US Army Aircorp 8th Airforce as a B-17 pilot during WWII. He was shot down over Meresburg, Germany on November 25th, 1944. He was captured and was a prisoner of War for six months. An avid golfer at Huntingdon Valley C.C., Mr. Shields was the owner of J. Craig Shields Real Estate in Abington from 1949 until his retirement in 1997. Funeral Services will be private.
