Janice Driedger

Obituary Condolences

Janice Driedger Janice Snyder Driedger passed away peacefully from Parkinson's disease on November 7, 2011 in Blue Bell, PA. Born Janice Carolyn Snyder on March 6, 1927 in Hickory, North Carolina, to Harmon Milton Snyder and Harriet (McClure) Snyder, Janice graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1945, and obtained a B.A. in Music Education from Temple University, in 1949. At Temple University's Lutheran Club, Janice met the love of her life, Arthur R. Driedger Jr., whom she married in 1949. Janice's life was exemplified by tasks of loyalty. She nurtured her four children cheerfully. She supported her husband's many endeavors and made his dreams her own. Janice expressed her faith as a church organist for more than 50 years (39 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ambler) and as a choir member. Janice also served others as a home health-aid for more than 20 years. Janice loved traveling, and visited all 50 states and three continents. She was a member of the Liberty Bell Wanderers, and in her last 25 years walked more than 2,000 miles in 45 states. As an Ambler Choral Society member, Janice performed in choral concerts locally and in Europe. Above all Janice was genuine, even tempered, and followed the callings before her. She could listen and support without casting judgment. Janice is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Driedger Jr. of Blue Bell; by children Arthur Driedger III (Lori) of Spring City, Carolyn Mastin (Larry) of Vancouver, WA, Harriet Kauffman (David) of Fort Washington, Carl Driedger (Linda) of Willow Street; and by eleven grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of her life at 4:00 pm on November 12, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ambler. Contributions in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A., the Liberty Bell Wanderers walking club, St. John's Lutheran Church, or your charity of choice. The family is grateful to caregivers at Sunrise of Blue Bell and Odyssey Hospice for their dedication to her care. Arrangements by Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home
