Lois Ollodart Keegan Obituary
LOIS OLLODART KEEGAN Nee: REINWALD Born January 23, 1937, in Chicago, IL; died of cancer, March 28, 2013, in Haycock, PA, 18951. A mid westerner by birth, she married Dr. Robert Ollodart of Buffalo, NY, and gave him two sons, Bruce and Peter. Divorced, she then married Robert Keegan, a sculptor from Perry Hall, MD. They relocated to Vermont and subsequently to Newtown, PA where they resided for twenty three years. Lois had three passions in her life: her husband's work, animals, and a love for people. As the business agent for his art for over twenty five years, Lois and her husband travelled to hundreds of art shows along the east coast and as far west as Ann Arbor, MI. It was animals, however, that fulfilled her emotional needs the most. Horses occupied her every day and, over her lifetime, she owned ten. As an equestrian, she was in the saddle for sixty years. Dogs, cats and wild birds also received their daily share of attention and fulfilled her need to nurture. Her greatest gift, however, was communicating with people, those troubled and otherwise. As a trained mental health practitioner her abilities went far beyond the norm. She counseled, advised and comforted hundreds of individuals, strangers and loved ones alike, and was directly instrumental in resolving their many difficult relationship conundrums. It was impossible not to like Lois Keegan. Her fresh beauty, ready smile and effervescent laughter were complemented by a mid-western friendliness that assured one of her genuine interest and concern. If one met Lois, one never forgot her. She had a dramatic impact on those around her and truly made a difference in their lives. In this world, there are great people who die as celebrities. And then there is that truly extra special class of human beings that should never die, for they are sorely needed. Lois Keegan is among those, for she loved all, and in return was loved by all.
