Marion E. Carver, 93, of Quakertown and formerly of Telford, passed away on her birthday, March 28, 2013 at Grand View Hospital. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Harold W. Carver. Born March 28, 1920 in Chicago, IL., Marion was the daughter of the late Anthony and Emily (Yates) Simmer. Mrs. Carver worked at Vogel and Feingold in Telford, and she went on to work as a seamstress at Merrill Landis Draperies in Telford until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and knitting. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and especially cherished her role as "Grandmom." In addition to her husband, Marion is survived by three children, Harold Carver, Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Bechtelsville, Lynn Renner and her husband, Tom, of Telford, and Carol Jean Sadler and her husband, Dennis, of Perkiomenville; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gordon Simmer of Ocala, FL and Thomas Simmer of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Andrew Renner; a brother, Neo Simmer; and sister, Ruth Sauers. An opportunity to view and greet the family will be held 10 AM Monday, April 1, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 107 Lincoln Ave., Telford, PA 18969, where her funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Telford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion's memory to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, address above.
