Nicholas A. Yanni, Sr., 94, of Ambler, died on November 11, 2011 at Gwynedd Square Nursing Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne M. (Wolf) Yanni. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 12, 1917 to the late Antonio and Francesca (Mendecino) Yanni. Mr. Yanni was a graduate of Germantown High School. He served our country as a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy. He was self-employed TV repairman for many years; his business tag line was "TV sick, call Nick". Mr. Yanni was a member of St. Joseph Church in Ambler, was past president of the Ambler Recreation Board, was a Coach for Ambler Junior Baseball, and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially of the Phillies. He was also "Santa's Helper" on Christmas Eve, driving Santa through the town of Ambler to visit the children. He is survived by 3 sons Anthony M. Yanni of Ambler, Richard F. Yanni of Lancaster, Robert J. Yanni of Horsham, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son Nicholas A. Yanni, Jr., and all his siblings: Michael, Jack, Frank, Jesse, Betty Yanni, Katherine Amorosso, Mary Paranzino. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 16 S. Spring Garden St., Ambler, PA. The Viewing will be from 9-10 AM at Church.
