Obituary Condolences

Owen Heinrich Owen G. Heinrich of Glenside in Abington Township, died Nov. 26, 2011, at his home. He was 69. Born Oct. 3, 1942, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George and Alma (Helwig) Heinrich. He was the husband of Gail (Weikel) Heinrich. A 1961 graduate of Abington High School, he attended the Tyler School of Art and was self-employed as a graphic designer. He was an artist and auto enthusiast and a local business owner with a great sense of humor, and was an animal lover and friend to all. Mr. Heinrich was heavily involved in the Glenside community and served over the years as a Cub Scout leader, Kiwanis, Hunter Soccer, GYAC baseball, PTA treasurer, and constable of Ward 12. He was a local SCCA timer/scorer, designed the Glenside-Weldon mascot "Cubby" and flag, and was a founder and instructor of Heraldry & Coats of Arms Club at Glenside-Weldon. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather who was loved and will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Marybet Duplessis (Michael) of Glenside; two sons, George Heinrich (Lisa) and Bud Heinrich (Tara); five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Marielle, Lindsay and Abigail; and a sister, Nancy Heinrich. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at John R. Freed Funeral Home, 124 N. Easton Road, Glenside. Friends and relatives may call from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1006 Easton Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.
