Rose P. Johnson Obituary
ROSE P. JOHNSON "Nana Rose" Rose P. Johnson, 92, of Yardley, PA died Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Spring Village at Floral Vale. Born and raised in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, NJ, a daughter of the late Bernardino and Pauline Carnevale, she has been a Yardley Borough resident since 1953. Always active in community affairs, Rose was the First Lady of Yardley for 16 years; she served as Treasurer of the Yardley Historical Association for 37 years, was a member of the Zoning Hearing Board, volunteered for many years at the Womens Exchange, and always greeted you with a smiling face at the polls on election day. She worked for many years at the Philadelphia National Bank in Yardley. Rose was a member of St Ignatius Church and never missed 5:30 Saturday mass and would always be seen in her favorite seat. Rose was graduated from Trenton High School, Class of 1939. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, S. Edward Johnson the love of her life; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Judy Johnson of Adamsville, TN, Samuel and Doreen Johnson of Morrisville, PA, and Robert and Paula Johnson of Yardley, PA; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. We would like to thank our extended family and all the Serving Hearts at Spring Village at Floral Vale. Eddie, Brian, Mary, Colleen, Chelsea, Lauren and Calistia just to name a few. We would not have had "Nana Rose" for so many wonderful years without your loving care. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9am Saturday at St. Ignatius Church, Yardley. Interment will follow at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Friends may call from 5pm to 8pm Friday at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the , 399 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or the Yardley Historical Association, PO Box 212, Yardley, PA 19067.
