Terry R. Scholl Obituary
Terry R. Scholl, age 76, retired Chief of Police of Lower Salford Township, died Oct.28, at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, shortly after admission to the ER. He was the husband of Carole M. (Hunsberger) Scholl, for 53 years. Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Roland S. and Thalia P. (Keller) Scholl and graduated from Souderton High School, class of 1954. He was a lifelong resident of Lower Salford Township. He started his professional career in the printing business at Scholl Printing. Terry started with Lower Salford Township police as a part-time officer May 3, 1972. He was appointed full- time Sept. 6, 1975 and was appointed Chief of Police in April 1984. He was a Juvenile Officer and Detective prior to his appointment as Chief of Police. During his tenure as Chief the department grew in size from 7 officers to 15. He retired in December of 1999. He was a US Army Veteran, serving his country from 1960-1963. Terry's memberships included the following: Harleysville Jaycees, Harleysville Lions Club where he served as Secretary, Montgomery County Police Chief's Assoc. where he served as secretary, Life Member of Harleysville Fire Co and Fire Police, Zion Mennonite Church where he was an active member and was a Sunday School teacher, choir member and church board member. Terry was a golf enthusiast. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Randy Scholl, Tami L. Pascucci, Wendy Smith and husband Jerry, four grandchildren; Jenna Waldon, Brandon Pascucci, Alyssa Pascucci, Chris Scholl, 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers Roland and wife Leslie, Thomas and wife Ruth Ann and sister-in-law Minnie Scholl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Scholl. The family will greet friends from 5-8PM Thurs., Oct. 31 at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, Franconia Twp. and again on Sat., Nov. 2 at Zion Mennonite Church, 149 Cherry Lane, Souderton from 10-11AM. Memorial Service 11:00AM. Interment follows at Zion Memorial Gardens.
