Marianna H. Peckmann Obituary
Marianna H. Peckmann Of North Wales, formerly of Ambler, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at home. She was 75. She was born in New York City, NY, and grew up in Bayville, Long Island. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Frieda (Schager) Harder, and sister of the late John Harder. Marianna was the loving wife of Hans G. Peckmann. They were married for 54 years.She graduated from Beaver College (currently Arcadia University) in 1960, and received her Master's Degree from Arcadia in 1983. She was employed by the Wissahickon School District as a middle school and high school science teacher for over 20 years. Marianna attended Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Chancel Choir. She enjoyed being part of Eve Circle, Liberty Trail Women's Club and several book clubs. Marianna also formerly served on Arcadia University's Board of Trustees. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening and family vacations to Walt Disney World, Florida and Ocean City, NJ. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Pamela D. Berntsen, and son-in-law Steven, of Chalfont, and a son, Karl H. Peckmann, and daughter-in-law Regina, of York, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Rebecca, Erik, Kristen, Kevin and Alec, who affectionately called her "Oma". A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, at 11am at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA 19002. Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Arcadia University, Office of University Advancement, 450 South Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038 or Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, Memorial and Legacy Fund, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA 19002.
