Calvin R. Grafton Obituary
Calvin R. Grafton, age 83, of Franconia Twp., entered heaven to be with his Lord Friday, July 11. He was the husband of Harriet Arline (Long) Grafton, for 64 years. Born in Frackville, PA he was the son of the late Calvin G. and Edith Mary (Hahn) Grafton. Calvin graduated from the former Hatfield High School, class of 1948. In 1963 he opened Calvin Grafton Electronics Sales & Service, later incorporated as Grafton Piano & Organ Co. Inc. It grew under his leadership from a small shop in Hatfield to at its present location in Souderton carrying a complete range of pianos, organs and keyboards. The company has installed and services hundreds of Allen church organs in the tri state. Calvin enjoyed working with numerous concert organists and supplying organs for notable events such as the 41st International Eucharistic Congress and the opening concerts of the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas, TX. Calvin was involved in the Christian Businessmen's Association and served on their board. He also served on the Board of New Life Family Services, Harleysville, PA. In addition, he served on the board of Grace Bible Church, Souderton, PA. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always had a story to share. His business interests were a direct result of his personal interests. He enjoyed playing the organ and working with electronics. This led to combining his two interests into the service and sales of some of the largest organs in the area. His personal faith gave the framework for his business ethics. He knew that he would be going to heaven based on his faith in Christ, John 3:16. In addition to his wife, Calvin is survived by three children: Dennis C. and wife Sandra, Glenn R. and wife Darlene, Jennifer L. and husband David J. Sanders, eight grandchildren: Valerie Fiedler, Jeremy Grafton, Ashley Laverty, Laura Whetstone, Joshua Grafton, Rebecca Utermohlen, Trevor Sanders, Benjamin Sanders, ten great-grandchildren: Christopher, Justin, Olivia, Victoria, Anthony, Bria, Ryan, Jackson, Miley, Penelope, one brother Robert Grafton and wife Joan. He was preceded in death by a baby sister Ruth Ann Grafton and brother Lynn John-Robert Grafton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Fri., July 18, 2:15pm, Calvary Church, (Heritage Hall) 820 Rt. 113, Souderton, where viewing will take place from 11:00 to 2:00.
