Alice H. Heavener Obituary
Alice H. Heavener Alice H. (Landes) Heavener, age 100, a lifelong resident of Lower Salford Twp., went to be with her Lord Monday, Jan. 25, at Peter Becker Community. She was the wife of the late Guy M. Heavener, who died in 1965. Born in Harleysville, she was one of eleven children born to the late Elias and Elizabeth (Hagey) Landes. She and her husband founded Guy Heavener Inc., a Harleysville company which began in the 1930's by custom farming. Alice supported her husband in many areas of the business including bagging coal and keeping the books. The company operates today as Heavener Supply Inc. She and her family contributed generously to many charitable causes. Mrs. Heavener moved to Peter Becker Community in 2007. She was a lifelong member of Salford Mennonite Church where she was active in Sewing Circle and President from 1970-1996. She is survived by a daughter-in-law Marie W. Heavener of Sellersville, five grandsons: Gerald and wife Wren of Harleysville, Keith and wife Betsy of Franconia Twp., Bruce and wife Kathy of Harleysville, Scott Heavener of Souderton, Brooke and wife Alison of Quakertown, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Duane L. in 1988 and daughter Elenore L. in 2007 and all her siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Sunday, Jan. 31, 3:30PM at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groff's Mill Road, Harleysville, where viewing will take place from 1:30-3:30PM. Interment will be Monday,, Feb. 1 in the church cemetery.
