Ada Delp Obituary

Ada G. Delp Age 84, a lifetime Souderton area resident, passed away July 23, 2010 in the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Souderton. She was the wife nearly 62 years to the late Alvin D. Delp, who died in 2008. Born in Franconia Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sally (Godshall) Moyer. For many years, Mrs. Delp worked alongside her husband on the family farm, fulfilling many responsibilities. She was a dedicated homemaker and will be remembered for her gift of hospitality and delicious meals. Family was her highest earthly priority and, in later years, she especially enjoyed surrounding herself with her great grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Rockhill Mennonite Church. Surviving are three sons, Arlin M. Delp, and his wife, Darlene, of Souderton; Laverne M. Delp and his wife, Beverly, of Harrisonburg, VA and Durrell M. Delp and his wife, Dawn, of Williamsburg, PA; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a brother, Norman Moyer, of Souderton. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, Richard Moyer, Edith Souder, Esther Bechtel, Mary Moyer, Ella Detweiler and Harold Moyer. Friends may greet the family Friday, July 30, 2010 between 6 and 8 P.M. in the Souderton Mennonite Homes Summit View Auditorium or Saturday, July 31 from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M. in Rockhill Mennonite Church and attend her funeral service at 11 A.M. Interment adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, P.O. Box 500, Akron, PA 17501. Huff & Lakjer, Lansdale.
