Norman G. Good Obituary
Norman G. Good 87, of Schwenksville, Pa, formerly of Souderton peacefully went to be with his Creator Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012. He was the loving husband of Helen M. Good for 63 wonderful years. Norman was born in Spring City, Pa to the late William and Emma (Groff) Good. A brother and seven sisters preceded him in death. Norman founded and owned, Norman G. Good Inc. Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning for 46 years and served as a bank director for the Univest Corporation. He was known for his positive attitude, optimistic spirit, integrity and for putting his faith in Jesus Christ into action in tangible ways. Norman served with the Civilian Peace Service during WW II on a cattle boat to Europe. He was instrumental in getting relief to victims in both the Stroudsburg Flood of 1955 and Wilkes Barre in 1972 through Mennonite Disaster Service. He served on the board and gave leadership to many projects at Spruce Lake Retreat, headed up the construction of a "House Against Hunger" project that raised funds for MCC relief work, and most recently got the Material Resource Center of Harleysville started. He was an active member at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church in various roles and will be especially remembered as a favorite Boy's Club Leader. He found great joy in his family and supported his grandchildren's activities. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rita Marie Hoover and husband Kevin, and grandchildren Kaitlyn Rose, Tyler Norman, and Travis Miles Hoover all of Schwenksville. Relatives and Friends may meet with the family on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 from 4-9 pm at the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Rd, Blooming Glen, PA 18911 A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 11 am also at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church.
