John R. Curran Obituary
John R. Curran, age 63, of Ambler, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Keystone House in Wyndmoor. Born in Whitpain Township, PA, he was the son of the late James and Edith (nee Refsnyder) Curran. He was preceded in death by his brother William Curran. He served as a Medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1975. John graduated with an MBA from Temple University. He was an Advertising Salesman, employed by 21st Century Montgomery Media Newspapers. John was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler. John is survived by his devoted and loving children; Eric (Valerie) Curran of Raleigh, NC, Matthew (Dawn) Curran of Perkasie, and Kate (Lars) Nelson of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his sister Mary Jane Bosket of Norristown, and brothers; James (Anne) Curran of Blue Bell and Walter Curran; and his sister-in-law Sharon Curran of Oreland. Relatives and friends are invited after 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler. Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Whitemarsh, PA. Remembrances in John's memory can be made to Abington Health Foundation, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001 and would be appreciated by the family.
