Regina Simonson Obituary

Regina Simonson Regina K. Simonson (nee Kelly), of Bel Air, MD formerly of Glenside, PA went to eternal rest on February 23, 2015 at the age of 80. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene P. Simonson with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Survived by, and cherished mother of, Patrick (Susan) of Allentown, PA; Thomas of Ridgefield, CT; Mark (Cynthia) of Rockville, MD; Timothy (Kim) of Bethlehem, PA; Eileen Hiebler (Charles) of Bel Air, MD. And her twelve grandchildren: Andy, Brendan, Jack, Catherine, Michael, Kelly, Claire, Grace, Paul, Julia, Ryan, and Colin. Also survived by sister: Dorothy K. Koval of Center Valley PA. She was predeceased by parents Charles & Marie, brothers Charles Jr. & Donald. For many years, Regina was a dedicated volunteer at St. Luke’s Church in their Hearts and Hands Quilters group, comprised of caring individuals who lovingly made quilts for the Wounded Warriors Program, refugees of Kosovo, victims of Hurricane Floyd and other organizations in need. Additionally, she served at St. Luke’s School as a lunch room and school yard aid & coordinated the cake booth at the annual Christmas Bazaar. She also enjoyed working in the book store of Bishop McDevitt High School. Relatives and friends are invited for a visitation on Friday evening, February 27th at St. Luke’s Church from 6-8 pm. And again on Saturday morning from 10 -11 am. The funeral mass will begin immediately following this visitation, at 11 am at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, located on Easton Rd & Fairhill Ave., Glenside PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made “in memory of Regina K. Simonson” to: St. Luke’s Church, C/O Hearts and Hands Quilters. 2316 Fairhill Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038. What a wonderful woman to celebrate! Jean was the most kind and giving person. Patient, accepting of all, and so very giving. I hope the happy and beautiful memories of her guide you through the grieving process. She inspired many and gave selflessly at all times.
