SCHOLEFIELD, Dorothy Margaret
(née Hayes)
November 6, 1923 - March 14, 2013
Peacefully on March 14, 2013, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Robert Scholefield, loving mother of Janet (Julian), Rob (Linda), Nancy (Ross), and cherished Nana of Amelia, Andrea, Meaghan, Lauren and Katie. Born in Wales, Dorothy came to Canada with her parents and family as a baby and lived most of her life in Montreal and at Lake Echo, Morin Heights. Dorothy had a wonderful sense of humour, a great sense of style and a beautiful smile. She had a soft spot for dogs and other animals, she loved dining out, traveling and "cleaning the woods", but most of all, she loved time with her family and friends up north at the cottage. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Kelly, the staff and Dr. Lysy at Chateau Westmount, where, despite her difficulties, Dorothy made many friends and was so appreciated. She will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be gratefully appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m. with a short visitation beforehand from 1 p.m. at Collins Clarke McGillivray White funeral home.

Dear Janet, Robbie and Nancy. How well I remember your Mother's shy, fun-loving manner; so easy to get along with, the eternal optimist always questioning, in search of reason and wisdom. She brought supportive balance to a Family of struggling individualists; she was everything a Mother should be, while hoarding away small bits of time for personal treasured pursuits. You all made her proud, and in turn, she engaged your caring, nurturing nature. A loving and lovely woman; always remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Words seem so meaningless at a time like this but I just want you to know you are in my thoughts with deepest sympathy. I often met your Mom in the Metro grocery store and we would play catch up on our kids etc.
With sincere sympathy,

Dear Janet, Robbie and Nancy,
I am so sorry to read of your loss; it is always painful to lose a parent. I was so shocked to see how much Auntie Dorothy looked like my Mum (with the exception of the auburn hair) you can tell they were sisters. (Your Auntie Mickey).
I informed my brother and sister of your mother's passing and they to extend their condolances.
Auntie Dorothy: Gorffwys mewn hedd.

Dear Janet, Rob and Nancy,
Dorothy holds a huge place in my memories of Lac Echo and in my heart still today. I can hear her warm voice and laugh now as clearly as when we last sat together around your dinner table or ours at the lake in those days gone by.
Sincerest sympathies to you all in her passing.
Love, Georgi(na) (and Lawrence and Naomi)
