Peacefully in his ninetieth year, on Monday, December 3, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones. Beloved husband and life-long partner of Helen Morantz. Devoted father of Frances and Stanley Urman. He is now reunited with his two beloved sons, Murray and Stewart. Loving Zaidy of Mia and Oren, Marni and Tzachi, Samara and Alex. Proud great-Zaidy of Noam, and Ari. Dear brother and brother- in-law of Gertie and the late Jack Mankofsky, and the late Frances Mankofsky. Brother-in- law of Joe and Mollie Morantz, Zelda and the late Phil Morantz, the late Molly and the late Lennie Bodenstein, the late Pearl and the late Ben Ash, the late Anne and the late Abe Morantz. Special uncle of Howard Bodenstein. He will be dearly missed by family and many friends from B'nai Brith and the Royal Canadian Legion, and by all who knew him. Special thanks to Marylou, MJ and Juvy as well as to the 6 North staff of the Jewish General Hospital for their dedication and care. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Congregation Shomrim Laboker Cemetery, Beth Yehuda Section, de la Savane. Shiva at the Castel Royal, 5740 Cavendish Blvd., from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the "David Mankofsky Memorial Fund for the Maple Leaf Lodge" c/o the B'nai B'rith Canada Foundation, (514) 733-5377, ext. 27.

I was saddened to read about the passing of your Dad.Although I had not seen him in many years my memories of him from Plattsburgh were always as a devoted father and husband. I pray to God to give you and your mom the power to get through what will inevitably be a very difficult period
