BELINA BRZOZOWSKI, Georges "Jerzy"
1952 - 2013
It is with profound sadness that we announce the graceful passing of Georges, surrounded by his loving family in Montréal, on Wednesday, January, 30, 2013 at the age of 60. Son of late Count Adam Belina Brzozowski and Countess Rysia Ilinska- Kaszowska. Cherished husband of Marieta. Beloved father of Jan; Elzbieta (Alexander Czartoryski) and Marek. He will be forever in the hearts of his brother, André (Aniela Czetwertynska) and his sister Zosia (Leo Ryan). He will also be missed by his four nephews, niece, precious in-laws and by exceptional friends around the world.
Georges was born in Morocco, March 3, 1952, from Polish parents. The family moved on July 6, 1965 to Canada after two post-war immigrations and being amongst the survivors of a terrible earthquake in Agadir, Morocco, on February 29, 1960. Georges worked 32 years for Pratt & Whitney in various departments and was loved by all his co-workers.
Jerzy was a simple, big-hearted man who always put his family's happiness first and devoted his life to making everyone smile…
He was a skilled sportsman, especially in tennis. For more than four decades, he was an enthusiastic competitive participant in an annual Labour Day weekend tennis tournament in Rawdon, Quebec that brings together members of the Polish community.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the valiant efforts of the Montreal Neurological Institute, notably to Dr Judith Marcoux, Dr Petr Kavan, and to Catherine-Anne and Denise Mangeau for their incredible support and compassion. As well, warmest thanks to Dr Golda Tradounsky and Constance, Nora, Sandra, Shiva, Ray, Michel and Richard at the Mount Sinai Hospital.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitations. The Funeral Mass and Celebration of George's Life will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 - 4455 West Broadway, Montréal, Québec, H4B 2A7 Telephone: 514-481-7768. Following the service, the family will receive friends at a reception at Mount Royal Commemorative Services - 1297, Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Québec, H2V 2P9, Telephone: 514.279.6540. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada http:/ /www.braintumour.ca and the Psychosocial Oncology Program http://port.mcgill.ca in Georges' memory will be deeply appreciated.

I really enjoy working with him. He was always happy and smiling even if he didn`t got it easy in his own department. One day he brought some polish pastries at work and he was happy to share it with us. He was very proud of his polish roots. Thank you my friend.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Dear Marieta,
I remember him, then known as Jerzyk, as a laughing thirteen year old boy on his bicycle as we all set out to Rawdon's Dairy Queen for the treat of the week. Even then,as I remember, he gave the impression of being cheerful, kind, and sensitive to others.
Later on, I saw him sporadically since I settled in Ottawa, and he remained a loyal Montrealer. But whenever we ran into each other, my memories of him never wavered - always kind, attentive to others, and well-bred. A constant, in addition to that great flashing smile.
I remember how he came to Ottawa for Edzio's funeral, although he wasn't well himself. He had made that extra effort because that's what people do. I will always remember that.
Edzio, Wilczek,Jerzy, our shelf is being emptied.
Our condolences.
Bibi and family.
