Henry Gordon (Gary) Aitken, U.E., March 28th, 1941 - February 20th, 2015 It is with shock and heavy hearts that we announce Gary's sudden passing at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Gary was born in Montreal to Henry Gordon Aitken and Dorothy Hart (nee Kertland). He will be greatly missed by his wife Valerie (nee Josset), his sons Robert (Margaret) and Andrew, and his sisters Susan Haglund (Bruce) and Linda Kochman (William). Beloved Grandpa to Ian and Daniel. Gary will also be missed by his nieces and cousins. Gary was active in multiple groups including his roles as a Past President of the Grace Dart Foundation and a member of the board of directors of the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation of the MUHC. Gary was a proud United Empire Loyalist, an Ensign in the 78th Fraser Highlanders and an avid genealogist. His first compilation of family history "Good People" covering the history of the Kertlands in Canada was a work of passion and dedication. His second book "The Aitkens of the Island" was underway at the time of his passing. Gary had a proud career with Marsh & McLennan of 40 years in the Montreal office. Gary was a loving husband, a great father and a superstar in the eyes of his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched. Donations can be made to the Grace Dart Foundation or the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation. A memorial will be held at a later date.

AMZALLAG, Solomon (Samy) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Solomon Amzallag announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Loving and devoted husband of Solange Levy Bencheton. Beloved and respected father and father-in-law of Danielle and Henri Amar, Josiane and Jaïs Ohayon, Anna Amzallag, Debbie and Lukas Stahl, Karen and Anthony Tille. Cherished and treasured "Pépé" and "Papi" of Philip, Nathaniel, and Joshua Amar; Jordan, Jessica, Jeremy, and Jason Ohayon. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses. Solomon will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He gave all his love to his wife, children and grandchildren. He was proud to serve the Jewish community with much dedication and devotion. Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and support. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Thursday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home, services at the Spanish & Portuguese Congregation. Baddeley, Dorothy  
Dorothy (Dot) BADDELEY (nee Mustill), 1923-2015. On Friday, February 20, 2015, Dorothy Baddeley passed away peacefully at the West Island Palliative Care Residence with her children by her side. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Richard (Dick) Baddeley; beloved mother of Gayle, Cheryl (Don), Donna (Earl) and Keith (Debbie); proud grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of three; sister of Gladys McElroy (Mustill) and the late Arthur, Stanley, Leslie and Reginald. She will be missed and forever hold a special place in our hearts. A private family funeral will be held at a later date. In Dorothy's memory donations can be made to her favorite charities: West Island Palliative Care Residence or Canadian Cancer Research.

BANIK, Upendra Kumar 1930 - 2015 On Thursday, February 19, 2015, peacefully, at the age of 85 at St. Mary's Hospital. Predeceased by his first wife Nirupoma (deceased 1953), his second wife Gita (deceased 2003) and his five siblings. Proud father of his two sons Tuhin "Bob" (Pompa) and Marc. Loving grandfather to Neil. Born in Chittagong, India, 1930. Graduate of Michigan State University and youngest doctorate (D.Sc.) in science of the University of Calcutta. Research scientist in Reproductive Endocrinology, publishing original works at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, with Dr. Gregory Pincus, co-inventor of the modern day anovluant known as "The Pill". Immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1965, to become Senior Research Scientist at Ayerst, McKenna & Harrison, where he developed with his colleagues, an hCG-based method of diagnosis of early human pregnancy. Later worked as an entrepreneur, and in his retirement pursued his passion of being a self-made philosopher. A dear father, mentor, colleague and "brother" to many, he will be fondly remembered. BARTON, Hilda 1924 - 2015 Peacefully in Montreal, Hilda Barton passed away on February 26, 2015 at the age of 90. BEAUDOIN, Beverly (Née Godard) June 5, 1946 - February 18, 2015 Passed away peacefully on February 18 at the age of 68. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Beaudoin, mother to Frank (Launa) and grandma to Tyler, Anthony, Cayla and Carly. She is survived by her mother, Jane McDonald, her brother, Corgan Godard (Annette) and her sister, Neffatti. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
