MARJERISON, Allan Gordon
June 28, 1914 - June 20, 2013
Like the energizer battery, it seemed he would go on forever, but the week before his 99th birthday, Allan died quietly at home at the end of a fight with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. He joins his late beloved wife Mary but leaves behind his daughter Elaine, sons David (Eileen) and Gordon, grandchildren John, Margaret (J.R.), Sean (Alexandrea), Ryan (Melanie) and David, and great-grandchildren Tanisha, Courtney, Theodore and Felix, all of whom will miss him deeply as will those who saw him as an adopted father and true friend. Allan is known, admired and loved in the community for his involvement as a founding member and caller for the Circles and Squares Dance Club, his long commitment as a member and deacon at the Church of St. John the Baptist, his fundraising for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, his active support of the Coming Together Project, and above all for his 33 years of daily volunteering at Tyndale-St. George Community Center as financial analyst, accountant, treasurer, comptroller, author, historian and chaplain where he has been an inspiration and mentor. Allan attributed his long life to crossword puzzles and square dancing. He believed God is Love. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire could contribute to Tyndale-St. George's or a charity of their choice. Visitation Thursday, June 27, 2-3 pm, at the Church of St. John the Baptist; 233 Ste-Claire Ave. Pointe Claire, Quebec, H9S 4E3, followed by a funeral in the church.
