Ernest Cousins CHAUVIN

December 6, 1919 - September 28, 2012

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Cousins Chauvin on September 28, 2012 at the Lakeshore General Hospital, at the age of 92. He will be greatly missed by his loving friend Winnifred Shannon and her family: Teresa, Kathleen, Patrick, Caroline, Marie, and Kevin. He will be mourned by his sister Barbara Bolli, of Victoria, BC, and his children Peter, Cynthia, and their mother Helen. A true Montrealer, Ernie also cherished Lake Champlain, where he loved to sail his Shark and play golf with Winnie. He was the principal of the engineering firm McDougall & Friedman, whose clients included major hospitals and universities in Montreal, until his retirement at age the age of 84. A lifelong member of the MAAA and Royal Montreal golf club, Ernie also loved skiing and tennis. After McGill, he served as Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps. He was a man's man. We will not soon forget his soft-spoken honesty, his generosity, and his droll sense of humour. Special thanks to Melody, Tom, and the staff of the Ste. Anne's Veteran's Hospital. Donations in his name can be made to the Ste. Anne's Hospital Foundation. A funeral service will be held October 6th, at 1pm, at the Centre Funeraire Cote-Des-Neiges.
