MARGGI, Gotthold "Goddi"
1932 – 2013
Born in Lenk, Switzerland, "Goddi" (as he was affectionately called) passed away peacefully in La Prairie on Thursday, January 10th at the age of 80. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Anna Busch. Goddi will be sadly missed by his brother Christian, his sister Rosemarie and by his six children, Eveline (Daniel), Rolf (Louise), Peter, Marianca (Jean), Patricia (René) and Udo. He was also the cherished "Opa" of Martine, Jennifer, Amanda, Réjean Jr, Jean- Christophe, Jessica, Keven, Danika, Jonathan and nine beautiful great-grandchildren. He remained close to his roots, always a "Bernois". Very active in the Swiss community, he was co-founder and life- member of Club de Tir Suisse de Montreal and member and/or supporter of many others, including Club Suisse des Cantons de l' Est, the Swiss National Society, Club de Lutte Suisse and Folkloreverein. He was a member of the Federation Committee for many years and was instrumental in organizing the Swiss National Day Celebration in Sutton for over 20 years. He will be missed by his many loving friends and family. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 20th at La Maison Darche, 7679 Taschereau Blvd, Brossard J4Y 1A2. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a service from 4:00 - 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the downstairs hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to SPCA Montéregie, a no-kill shelter and his favourite charity. We love you Papa.
