With deep sadness, the Dindzans family announces the sudden passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Janis on March 9, 2013 at the age of 92 years. Devoted husband of Zina for 61 years. Loving father of Baiba (Andris) Abele, Vincents (Linda), Renate (David), Andris (Nancy) and Sarma (Peter) Dindzans-Van Sant. Proud grandfather to Alize, Indra (Jordan), Vilis, Andra (Greg), Karlis, Viktors, Darija, Kristina, Liana, Maija, Lukas and Ariana. Great-grandfather to Colton and Logan. Dear brother of Ance and uncle to Juris in Latvia. Janis was an active member of the Montreal and Hamilton Latvian communities. He served as Vice- Chairman of the Latvian Song Festival in Canada Board for many years. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Parish, 11 Wilson Street W., Ancaster on Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m. Following the memorial mass, a celebration of life will be held at the Christ Latvian Ev. Lutheran Church Hall - 18 Victoria Ave. S., Hamilton, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to support orphans in Latvia can be sent to the Latvian Relief Society in memory of Janis to 16 Queen St. N., Hamilton, ON L8R 2T8.
