Lindorf MAYERS

MAYERS, Lindorf Hylvester
26 October 1935 – 26 January 2013
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lindorf Hylvester Mayers, BSW, MA, in his 77th year. Lindorf was born in St Michael's, Barbados. He was a participant and leader in many community projects. As a social worker for many years before retiring, Lindorf was committed to public service and serving his community. Lindorf was the beloved son of the late Lockley and Georgina Mayers and the husband of Phyllis (née Sandiford), father of Michelle, Neil (Jennifer), Lindsey and Kevin, grandfather of Willem and Maxim Van Herk, Rémi Villeneuve and Kella Mayers; brother of Jean, Thelson (late Clarice), Joyce (Collie), Monica (late Rawle), Melinda, Roslyn (Carlton), brother-in-law of Melville, O'Hara (late Freddy), and Audrey (Ross), uncle to many nieces and nephews and friend of the Williams-Beggs and Selman families. Special thanks to the staff of the Montreal General Hospital's Emergency Room and 15th West Ward and the Henri- Bradet Centre staff. A viewing will take
place on Friday, 1st February from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 2nd February at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Anglican Church, 5220 Sherbrooke St. West. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity Memorial Anglican Church would be appreciated.
