It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Abdur Raquib Choudhury on April 5, 2018. His spirit and teachings will forever remain with his wife Dilruba, his children Rubina, Sabina (Ulf), Asif (Alina), his granddaughter Olivia, the always loyal Zelda and the many family and friends. Through his enthusiasm for the news and world events, he taught us to question; through his love of sports, he taught us the importance of teamwork and discipline; through his love of poetry and public speaking, he taught us the importance of voice and to always stand up for our beliefs; through his drive for excellence, he taught us to always be proud of our accomplishments, but humble with its presentation. Through his love of medicine, he reminded us of the importance “to cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.”

The family owes a debt of gratitude to the wonderful nurses, physicians, volunteers and support teams at the MUHC. To the team at the MGH 14th floor, we thank you so very much for the security and comfort in the beginning of this journey. To the team at the MNH 4th floor, we thank you for your kindness and care during the transition. To the team at the RVH palliative care unit, we thank you for your empathy, your warmth, your strength, your shoulders and most of all, your hearts. You are all truly our guardian angels.

May he always dance with Olivia.
