AZIZ, Albert
October 25, 1927 - August 25, 2014
Died peacefully after a courageous battle, surrounded by his loving family, to reunite with his devoted wife, the late Florence Cury Aziz of sixty-two years, after a brief separation of less than six months. Defined the meaning of a family man, he was an exemplary role model to his children Ricky Aziz (Firouzeh Kashani), Mark Aziz, Karen Aziz (David Johnson) and Kathy Aziz (Jim McLeod) and grandchildren whom he cherished Tiffany, Amanda, Michael, Erik Smith, Johnathan, Jessica, Alexander Johnson and Madison McLeod, a loving son to the late John and Nora Aziz, a dedicated brother and brother-in-law to the late Margaret Aziz Salhany, the late Laurice and Albert Habib, a fatherly uncle to his nieces and nephews. Albert was not only the patriarch of his immediate family but touched extended family and friends. Albert lived every moment of his life purposeful and with devotion; he was a caring mentor to his many employees, unwavering leader in his numerous benevolent endeavours, loyal friend to many, appreciated patient to his doctors and all of their staff. He was dedicated, proud and persevered in all of his undertakings. He lived and breathed Danson Décor Inc., an international company that he began in his family basement together with his father, inspired by his mother, grew with his brother-in-law "Habib" and expanded with his sons, all with the help of his many dedicated employees. His core values exuded everything in his life as he lead many St. Nicholas Church and Men's Club campaigns (including the annual cookie campaigns, Christmas turkey dinners and beautification of the church), presided over the LSCA, was involved with St. Ignatius of Antioch, created the Expo '67 Centennial Rose (proceeds of which helped children in need), received the Governor General's Golden Queen Jubilee Award, accomplishments of which he was very proud. Many thanks to his dedicated caregivers, health care providers and doctors, with a special thank you to Dr. Matouk. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert's memory can be made to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church or The Cedars Cancer Institute, 2155 Guy Street, Suite 900, Montreal (Quebec) H3H 2R9 (https://www.cedars.ca/cedars). Family will be receiving condolences at Urgel Bougie, 1255 ave Beaumont, on Wednesday, August 27, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday viewing at the St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 80 rue de Castelnau Est, Montreal, QC H2R 1P3 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m.

Dearest Karen and Kathy,
Please accept my sincerest condolences on my own behalf and on that of your alma mater.
I remember seeing you girls in CEGEP and thinking that you must come from a marvelous family - such a tribute to your parents.
I know it must have been difficult losing them so close, having myself lost three family members in two years.
Please reach out when the time is right, and cherish the memories.
