Dolores Pushkar passed away on September 14. She was a dedicated academic who valued the pursuit of knowledge and played a pivotal role in the Centre for Research in Human Development and in the Psychology Department at Concordia University. She was a productive researcher throughout her 45 year career, making many important contributions to the psychological study of aging, including retirement, caregiving, and wisdom. She was an excellent supervisor for many graduate students. Her contributions were recognized, including with the title Distinguished Professor Emeritus. A committed atheist and nature enthusiast, Dolores enjoyed opera, literature and all arts. She often engaged in spirited debate over good wine. She was never afraid of taking an unpopular opinion in order to shine a light on an injustice. Above all she loved her family, both genetic and chosen, as well as her large circle of wonderful friends and colleagues all of whom will miss her dearly. Please join us for a celebration of Dolores' life at the Loyola Jesuit Hall and Conference Center on the Loyola Campus of Concordia University Room RF-110 on Monday September 21 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the SPCA.
