LUKIAN, Francis
Born on May 27, 1924, in Montreal, died peacefully at Sainte Anne de Bellevue Veterans Hospital April 12, 2014. Beloved son of the late George Lukian and the late Ludwicka Buksak. Survived by his beautiful and devoted wife for 67 years, Ruth Nason. Loving and dedicated father of the late Douglas (Vivian Italiano) and Ronald (Gail Hall) and adored grandfather "Didi" of Jessica, Taylor, Emma and Benjamin. Survived by his loving brother Steven; sisters, Rose, Mona and Carolyn (Cookie) and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by sisters, Anne, Victoria, Gloria and brothers, Richard, Dimitri and William. He will sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a very kind, generous and gentle soul. A true family man. He was a proud WWll and D-Day veteran and long-time employee and vice-president of Lukian Plastics Closures Limited. As a young man, he was a councillor at University Settlement Camp where he grew to love the outdoors and nature. With the help of his family, he built a country home in Rawdon, Quebec and later spent many days trout fishing at Horseshoe Lake with family, friends and business associates. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the Sainte Anne's Veterans Hospital Foundation.
