OBITUARY JACQUES RAYMOND, FCA 1919 - 2010 Jacques Raymond, B.A., C. Adm., CMC, FCA passed away in Westmount, on March 6, 2010 at the age of ninety, following a long valiant losing battle with diabetes. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Jacqueline Renaud. Predeceased by his son Benoit, he is lovingly remembered by his children Mireille (John Keyserlingk), Annie (Maurice Gareau), Josee, Adele, Vincent (Patrice Powers), his grandchildren Dominique and Justine Keyserlingk, Sophie (Christophe Majkowski) and Brigitte Gareau, his sister Claire, his brother-in-law, Pierre Renaud (Monique Plouffe), their son Alain as well as numerous family members and many friends. Following his classical studies at College Jean-de-Brebeuf, he took night classes at Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales and then obtained his chartered accountant designation. In 1948, he founded the accounting firm of Raymond & Chabot with Guy Chabot. When they were joined shortly thereafter by Guy Martin and Jacques Pare, the firm became Raymond Chabot Martin Pare, commonly known as RCMP, and continued under that name until May 1998, when it became Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. For over thirty years, he was the firm's President and Chief Executive Officer. A consummate professional who constantly strove for excellence, he left an indelible mark on the firm. He was President of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He was a lifetime member of both these organizations and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. He was also an honorary member of the Club Saint-Denis and the Mount Royal Tennis Club. He was a member of the board of directors of numerous companies. In addition to his unflagging intense interest in his profession, he was socially committed and a strong supporter of the arts. He was a long-time treasurer of Amitie Canada-Orient, the Association pour l'education des enfants arrieres, the Quebec Diabetes Association and the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Quebec, and Chairman of the Ville Marie Oncology Foundation and the Fondation du Theatre du Rideau Vert. He received Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee Medal, was named Man of the Month by Commerce magazine, and received the Merite HEC and Batisseur du 20e siecle de la Chambre de Commerce du Grand Montreal awards. The family will receive condolences at: Centre Funeraire Cote-des-Neiges 4525 Cote-des-Neiges Montreal, Quebec 514-342-8000 on Tuesday March 16, 2010 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in Saint-Leon de Westmount Church on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at noon. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ville Marie Oncology Foundation at 1538 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec, H3G 1L5 or to Diabete Quebec at 8550 Pie-IX Boulevard, Suite 300, Montreal, Quebec, H1Z 4G2 would be appreciated.

we were very saddened to read about the death of Mireille's wonderful father.
