Jim Adams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 12 to Jul. 13, 2006.
OBITUARY JIM ADAMS 1940 - 2006 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and untimely passing of Jim Adams on July 10, 2006, at the age of sixty-six. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of forty-four years, Elizabeth (McIntyre), his three children Kim (Richard), Tracy (Stephen) and Kevin, as well as by Granddad's angels Adam, Brianne and Timothy. Jim was the son of the late Jim and Jessie Adams and was brother to Andrew (Joan). Jim was immensely proud of having retired as the last Westmount Fire Chief and Director of Public Security. Jim will no doubt be remembered for his years of tireless work volunteering as both President of LaSalle Minor Hockey Association and Riverside Park Pool. Jim was a devoted family man with a great love of life. We love you and will carry you with us always. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening July 12 from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 5644 Bannantyne Ave., Verdun (at Beatty). Funeral service in St. Johns Presbyterian Church, 28 Second St. East, Cornwall, Ontario, on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to service in church.

It is always sad to see the passing of an old friend. I knew Jim from summers at Sir John Lake, Lachute during the late 40's and early 50's. I also went to public and high school with Jim. I can remember Jim playing the chanter while in the Boys Pipe Band of the Black Watch Cadet Corps. Many, many years have past since I last saw Jim but still a memory from 50 years ago. May you rest in peace Jim and my sincerest condolences to your high school sweetheart, Elizabeth and your family.
