LITTLE, John M., M.D. October 5, 1938 - June 10, 2018 It is with profound sadness that the family announces John's passing on June 10, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born in Halifax, NS, the son of John Milton Little and Sarah Kathleen Brown. Loving and devoted husband of Maureen Quelch, he is survived by his children Teresa, Jim (Lara), Paul, David (Melanie), and Peter (Gina). Proud grandfather of Rachel (Joshua), Sebastien, Dominique; Jack, Nicolas; Kate, Calvin; Madeline, Reagan; Samantha, Jaden, Maddux. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Robert (Myra), stepdaughter Lynn (Dennis) and step-grandchildren Anthony and Marlene. He was predeceased by his brother William and stepson Wayne (Sylvie). John was the director of ophthalmology at the Montreal Children's Hospital for 22 years and also a retinal surgeon at the Montreal General Hospital for many years. He was dedicated to his patients and carried out their care with dignity. John was involved with many medical organizations and worked on many committees with his colleagues whom he held in high esteem. He was the founder and first president of the Canadian Association of Pediatric Ophthalmologists (CAPO) in 1992. It was also a privilege for John to be the ophthalmological consultant to the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club for 43 years. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Society of Montreal serving as president (2004-2006) and Irishman of the Year in 2009. John played hockey for many years with the PCOT league and looked forward to the weekly breakfasts and monthly luncheons with his hockey buddies. Our sincere thanks to the staff of the ICU and on 9C at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care.
