I just learned of John's death. We were classmates and teammates(football)at University as well as roommates for two summers in the Armoured Corps/ Canadian Officers Training Corp and earned our commissions at the same time.Everything you said about him in the obituary is "bang on". He truly was a highly principled man and I am fortunate to have known him.

....always a pleasure to have had John as a fellow villager. I will miss his capable, comfortable style...at a loss for adequate.words.

To all the Rider Family,
Both Mike and I worked with John at the Purdue Sunrise Avenue location for many years. He bought both his knowledge and passion for Purdue and shared this with all who worked with him. I still had the honor of working with John at our new locaiton in Pickering. I enjoyed many stories of John and Sandi travels. Going over photos the last few days has made me realize just how lucky we were to have John in our lives. A sad day to walk down memory lane, but what a road it must have been for John to have walked.
Rest in Peace.
