DAVIES, Kathleen Mary (nee Hopkins) On Friday, June 8, 2018, Kathleen passed away peacefully at the West Island Palliative Care Residence at the age of 86. Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years Peter, children Angela (Paul), Heather (Walter) and Susan (Adam) and grandchildren, Jenna, Shannon, David, Peter, Eric, Maggie and Glen. Kathleen will also be forever remembered by her brothers, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Kathleen was born in Chichester, England, and grew up in Belfast before moving with her family to Zimbabwe (Rhodesia). She trained as a nurse at Guy's Hospital, London and then came to Canada to further her passion for nursing at the Montreal General Hospital, where she was head nurse of her ward. She stopped nursing to raise her children, but then returned to work at Pierrefonds Manor where she became the General Manager. Kathleen retired at the age of 66, but continued her selfless dedication to helping others, through Meals on Wheels, Nova, and her committed involvement as a member of St Barnabas Church, Daughters of the Nile and Karnak Ladies. She will live forever in our hearts. A funeral service will take place at St Barnabas Anglican Church on 12301 Colin Street, Pierrefonds (corner Westpark) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, followed by a reception at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathleen's memory to the Montreal Shriners Hospital for Children or West Island Palliative Care Residence.
