Michael was a valued colleague and an unusually charming man. His experiments always had a touch of the unusual, and I always looked forward to reading his papers. In particular I enjoyed meeting him and spending time with him at conferences; he brightened up a room just by entering it. We shall all miss his stimulating and agreeable company. Pleas accept my sympathy in your loss.

I found out earlier today of Michael's passing. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I got to know Michael over the past few years at Concordia. In 2009, Michael and I organized David Sloan Wilson's public lecture as part of the Science College's speaker series. He was a true gentleman. My deepest sympathies.

My beloved husbando Michael von Grunau was a great person, a great man, he was the wind beneath my wings and the flower that bloomed every spring. He was the light that shone in my eyes and the highlight of my day. I loved him greatly and I miss him tremenduously. I am prevelleged to have met my lovey and known him for 22 1/2 years. He was my soul mate, my best friend and my clown, he made me laugh. I have only great memories of him and that is my treasure which I will carry with me for the rest of my life and share them with my children.

While I am happy that you are no longer in pain and no longer suffering, I am so deeply saddened that you are no longer with us. Everything happened too quick, and I will miss you so so much my dear dear cousin. Prayers and many hugs to Marinez, Fernando, and Gabriella. With all my love, ~Lisa
