Renato Girolami December 13, 1925 - September 5, 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Renato at his residence in Sainte-Thérèse, Qc. Born an Italian citizen in Brno, Czech Republic, he immigrated to Canada in 1948. He graduated in Engineering from McGill University and had a fulfilling 34-year career at Alcan where he led both local and international projects. He retired in 1986. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Mary, his four children Fabio (Marian), Claudio (Elizabeth), Laura (Michel Bissonnette), Silvia (Tim) in whom he took great pride, and his two cherished grandchildren Victoria and Matthew. Predeceased by his brother Libero (Edeltraut) in 1981, he will be sadly missed by his nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and his extended family. Many friends in Canada and abroad will also mourn his passing. A special thanks to Dr. Elise Thibault and her team at Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital in Laval, to Dr. Normand Lavoie, Dr. Jean-Bernard Masson, and to the staff at Les Résidences du Marché for their excellent care. At his request, a private family service has been held. A memorial mass celebrating his life will be held on September 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Sainte Françoise Cabrini Church, 210, rue de l'Église, Rosemere, Qc. Interment will take place at a later date in Fanna (Pordenone), Italy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favourite charity.
