Dick passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30, 2013 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of nearly 62 years of Colleen Leblanc Moralejo. He will be sadly missed by his children Anne, Carol, Donna, Lois (Steve) Pohlod, Susan (Fred) Fraser, Michael (Josee Patton), and Lisa, as well as grandchildren Alexander, Christopher, Andrew, Michael, Gregory, Stefanie, Morgan, Nicholas and Caroline (Carli). He will also be greatly missed by his sister, Marina (the late Dr. Mark) Boss and his nieces and nephews, Carmen, Ken and Odette, as well as his sister-in-law, Dolores (the late Norman) Leblanc, and his nieces and nephews Kim, Cheryl, Tracy, and Caroline. Dick was born in Trinidad, West Indies, and is predeceased by his parents, Venancio and Carmen Moralejo, and his youngest sister, Graciela. He came to Montreal to study medicine at McGill University, graduating in 1949, and taking up surgical residency training in Montreal and Toronto hospitals. He spent most of his professional life at St. Mary's Hospital as a General Surgeon and was Chief of Surgery and Director of Professional Services at St. Mary's for more than 10 years. Almost greater than his love for his wife and seven children was his love for music. He was a member of the Big Band of Montreal for 45 years. Visitation at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella St.) on Thursday, April 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Service on Friday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at the Kane & Fetterly Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, 3830 Lacombe Ave., Montreal, QC, H3T 9Z9 or to a charity of your choice.Condolences may be sent to www.kanefetterly.qc.ca
