(Died Tuesday, February 4, 2014)
Born in Montreal, March 7, 1927, Robert Newton (Bob), passed away, on Tuesday, at the age of 86 years. He is predeceased by Annette Newton (nee Arbec), his beloved wife of over 39 years. His siblings, Gerry, Irene, Lily and Joan, and his daughter-in-law, Pamela. He is survived by, and sadly missed by, his wife, Louise Cadieux and his children, Bobby, Norma (Christian), and Mark (Kristine). He had a passion and love for hockey, and growing up, he was always on the ice. He became a star player for Catholic High, then played for the Montreal Junior Canadiens, as well as minor pro for the San Diego Skyhawks, Boston Olympics and Saint John Beavers. Following that, he spent 30 years in the fashion industry in Montreal. He was always sharp-dressed, and quick with a joke. He loved to laugh and was known for his kindness, generosity and joie de vivre. He had a love of the outdoors, especially in the sun, and also enjoyed fishing, golfing, baseball, tennis and cross-country skiing. A private family service is planned at Mount Royal Cemetery in the spring. A heartfelt thank you, to the nurses, doctors and staff, at the I.G.U.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, would be appreciated.
