ZYTYNSKY, Walter (Wolodymyr)
December 14, 1935 - July 8, 2012
On Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the age of 76, Walter Zytynsky peacefully passed away. Beloved husband and soul mate of 57 years to Mary Dwyhajlo, predeceased by his brother Roman, cherished father to Peter (Lonya Kruk), Angel (late John Kresevic) and Taras (Antonella Ferri), much loved grandfather to Kassandra, Tarasanne, Nicholas, Michael, Anthony, Alexander, Alyssa, Jessica and Tanya. Uncle to many nieces and nephews and devoted brother-in-law to Paul Dwyhajlo (Anne). At an early age, Walter started his career with his father Michael at his family owned European Sausage Ltd. He enjoyed delighting customers and worked hard for the success of the business. Walter's life centred around family, food and fun at his cottage in Highgate Springs, Vermont. He cherished the time with his children and grandchildren at the cottage. Week-ends were spent boating, fishing, playing tennis and water skiing and of course, the highlight of every week-end was Saturday lunch, when Walter prepared his house specialty, a smoked meat sandwich, for everyone to enjoy. Walter was an inspiration to us all and showed his strength while battling Amyloidosis. Special thanks to Cardiologist Dr. Hussein Fadlallah. The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, July 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Alfred Dallaire Memoria Funeral Home, 3254 Bellechasse, corner St. Michel Blvd. H1Y 2E8. Panachyda (memorial services) will be held at 8 p.m. on both nights. The funeral is to be held on Thursday, July 12. Panachyda at 10 a.m. at Alfred Dallaire Memoria, followed by a funeral service at St. Sophie Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 6250 St.Michel Blvd H1Y 2E8. The burial will take place at Mount Royal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Sophie Ukrainian Cathedral would be greatly appreciated.
