VERED, Arnon Joseph (Arnie)
His championship battle came to an end on Friday, July 4, 2014. Arnie wanted us all to be happy, be healthy, and to cherish what we have. Beloved husband of Liz Adessky. Loving father of Ariel, Danya (David), Jordana, Alexandra, Michael and Tori. Cherished son of Sara and the late Zeev, and son-in-law of the late Zelda and the late Irving Adessky. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Gillie and Susan, Ron and Jennifer; and brother-in-law of Jeffrey, Andrew and Malvina, Mark and Sheryl Adessky, Joy and Louis Hoppenheim, and Endy. Sadly mourned and fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, fourteen nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Arnie leaves behind a legacy of volunteerism and selfless giving. His greatest pleasure, besides his children and family, was helping others and giving back to his community. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kitts, Dr. Mimeault, Dr. Gold, Dr. Metrakos, Dr. Bouganim, Daphne, Dr. Fitzgibbon, Dr. Stern, Dr. Tobin and to the many nurses and care- workers he came into contact with at the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Ottawa Hospital; Arnie appreciated all that was done for him. Funeral service from Congregation Machzikei Hadas, 2310 Virginia Drive, Ottawa, on Sunday, July 6 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Congregation Machzikei Hadas Section, Jewish Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Bank Street. Shiva in Ottawa at 832 Melwood Avenue, on Sunday following burial, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; services at 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Contributions in Arnie's memory may be made to the Vered Family Chair c/o the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, (613) 761-4295, or to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, (613) 247-3527.
