OBITUARY HARRY WAGSCHAL October 12, 1939-January 31, 2011 71, of Pointe Claire, died from complications of Parkinson's. Born Harry Goldfisch in Port of Spain, Trinidad, to Malka Golding and Manfred Goldfisch, German Jews fleeing the Nazi regime. After Malka remarried, the family immigrated to Montreal. Educated at the Julliard School of Music, Sir George Williams, and McGill, he studied violin in Vienna and Nice, and played in the Kingston and Quebec Symphonies. He later taught at Mount Royal High, and, beginning in 1969 until retirement, at Dawson College, as professor of Sociology and Humanities. He published some fifty articles and a collection of essays on the sociology of education and "values education." He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Gerry Wagschal, and his spouse, Alexa Topolski, of New York; Steven Wagschal, and his spouse, Sandy Shapshay, of Bloomington, IN; and Tarina Wagschal, and her spouse, Robert Gosset, of Pte Claire; seven grandchildren (Nicholas, Tristan, Molly, Emma, Marlena, Caroline and Sara); his sisters, Marion Wagschal, of Montreal, and Su Goldfish, of Sydney, Aus.; his first wife, Barbara Gollob, and his second wife, Dawna Weippert; and many friends.
