In memory of a sweet little girl who was our neighbour many years ago. She went on to become a distinguished artist who gave us finer things to think of.

Dear Walker family:
I was extremely saddened to learn of Laurie’s passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
Our friendship was very special to me –dating from our freshman year at Mt A, and then as roommates in our fourth year (the flea incident and Thanksgiving dinner are legendary) to the sight of her at 3 am at the cargo pier in Halifax awaiting the arrival of the polish ship I was on, and then following her career at shows in Montreal, Guelph, and Oakville.
I had a deep respect for Laurie as an artist – she was truly original and her work exceptionally rigorous.
I benefited enormously from her insights and intelligence. She will be greatly missed.

Our deepest condolences. Laurie's loss will be felt by so many in so many ways. We knew her as a member of our book club, a charming woman who always brought a new and fresh perspective of any book or any subject we discussed. Her insight manifested itself in so many ways and she touched so many people directly and indirectly in her work.

Deepest condolences to the entire Walker family.
Laurie was an artist in the purest sense of the word.
Through her art she always tried to help us not only understand and appreciate our world, but to delight in it.
She lived her life like that, and I know she will forever be remembered.
Thank you Laurie.
Sincerely,
zsolt
