December 25, 1920 - October 22, 2012
Major Robert (Bob) Kemp passed away peacefully in Calgary on October 22, 2012, at the Colonel Belcher Veterans Care Centre, in his 92nd year. Born December 25, 1920 in Montreal, he leaves behind his wife Beulah (Billie), daughters Debra and Dorothy (Sam) and granddaughter Shoshana. Bob served in the RCAF (Air Sea Rescue, Atlantic Theatre) during WW II. In 1953 he married Billie Dunn and lived in Lachine throughout his working career at Just Equipment Ltd. At age 55 he retired and moved to Orford Lake where he enjoyed many of his fondest memories and made many great friends. One of his favourite hobbies was helping the neighbours. Bob could "fix anything" and loved to share his expertise! Bob was happiest driving around Orford with one of his dogs, especially "Libby". A devoted husband, father, father-in- law and grandfather, Bob will be dearly missed by us all. Cremation will take place in Calgary at the Evan J. Strong Funeral Services, attended by the immediate family. A celebration of Bob's life will take place next summer in Montreal. The family is most grateful for the wonderful care Bob received from the staff at the Colonel Belcher. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hotchkiss Brain Institute (www.hbi.ucalgary.ca), where Bob was very proud of his son-in-law Sam's contributions. Photos, Memories and Condolences may be shared with Bob's family through www.evanstrong.com
