Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, May 23, 2013, in his eighty-sixth year. Beloved and devoted husband of Bernice Greenfeld for sixty-five years. Treasured father and father-in-law of Michael and Therese Brownstein, Janis Brownstein, and Cheryl Brownstein and Dr. Rick Schreiber. Loving son of the late Minnie and the late Benjamin Brownstein. Cherished grandfather of David and Ann Brownstein, Julia and Eric Ouaknine; Matthew Stein and Roslyn Stein; and Maggie Harris. Proud great- grandfather of Oscar and Lola Ouaknine; and James Brownstein. Dear brother and brother- in-law of Harold and Natalie Brownstein, Andre and Esther Landsman, Irwin and Ghislaine Brownstein, Beatrice and the late Sol Krupp, the late Gerald and the late Shirley Brownstein, and brother-in-law of Lou and Helen Greenfeld, Shirley and the late Leo Goldfarb, Roslyn and Harvey Wolfe, the late Hyman and the late Edna Greenfeld, the late Nathan Greenfeld. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank Drs. Joseph Portnoy, Bernard Lapointe and Franck Bladou for their outstanding care. Funeral service at CONGREGATION SHAAR HASHOMAYIM SYNAGOGUE, 120 Côte-Saint-Antoine Road, Westmount, on Sunday, May 26 at 11 a.m. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 ch. de la Forêt, Outremont. Private shiva at his home.
